August is almost here. A lot has happened. The State Convention is over. We have a new Commander and Sr. Vice. Roy Smith is our new Commander this year. Support him as much as possible.

 

By now the post should have received next year’s membership cards from department headquarters. In many communities, school starts at the beginning or middle of the month. It is time to start planning for our Veterans day observance. 

 

Taste of Orland is coming on the first, second and third of August. We will have a booth there. On Saturday, the second, we have been asked to be on stage  with all military groups from Orland. Hope to see you there.  

 

The 1st of August starts a new fiscal year for us. Time to send in this year’s dues. Send them in to the post, not to the state. Thank you.

 

I will be going to the National Convention in Tampa Florida on the 22nd of August.

 

Enjoy the rest of the summer. Stop in at the post for a meeting or just for coffee.  Coffee days are on Mondays and Fridays, between 9:00 and 11:00 am.
